At SA, we facilitate and empower our students by breaking down the barriers that prevent them from quickly learning and applying today's modern Spanish language and Sewing skills.

Spanish Academy partners with Elementary Schools and Community Centers across the Bay Area and Southern California to provide after school, before school Enrichment Programs and Camps.

Through our commitment, experience, and expertise, Francisca Bustos, CEO, Program Developer and Executive Program Director has established Enrichment Programs focused on Spanish Language, Sewing and more.

Our Core Programs

Backed by 25+ years of Teaching experience and a strong foundation in Spanish language.

Spanish Classes

1st-5th Grades

Children will learn the Spanish language in a fun, comfortable learning environment. Material is presented in a visual, engaging, interactive manner.

Students will learn real Spanish in an immersion setting, as well as become familiar with cultural elements of Spanish-speaking countries.

The goal of our program to attain conversational skills and to build a Spanish language foundation for when they enter middle school.

Kinder-only

Program designed specifically for Kindergartners, Hands-on and Interactive, Friendly Spanish Immersion (“FSI”)

The goal of this program is to introduce the Spanish language and be the first building block for the grades ahead.

Sewing Classes

1st-5th Grade

Children will learn how to safely thread a needle, how to use patterns, and sew their pieces by hand.

Sewing techniques learned in class:

Running stitch, slip stitch, how to sew buttons, and more. Children will make bags/sacks, holiday decorations, a "rag doll" and clothes for doll and more.

Kinder-only

Kinder students will work on different Sewing projects than the upper grades.

Students will use age appropriate needles, will use a hoop to help them with their sewing, will learn how to sew on different materials (paper plates, cotton and other).

Mindfulness, Kindness & Yoga Classes

Mindfulness is about teaching them to be present and aware of their thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, helping them to choose their reactions instead of acting impulsively.

Kindness for kids means being nice and helpful to others, showing care and respect, and doing things that make people feel good.

Yoga for kids is a fun way to move your body, breathe deeply, and learn to be mindful, helping you feel good and calm, and building strength and flexibility.
